Pick up a pencil and spark your creative interests in these informal writing sessions. With the help of a Denver Art Museum (http://www.denverartmuseum.org/calendar/drop-writing-sessions) instructor, try your hand at a new writing topic every month, while visiting various museum galleries. All experience levels welcome, bring your own supplies or use one of DAM's notebooks. Monthly program on the fourth Tuesday of the month. January 27: Fairy Tales and More - Princesses, tiaras, and fancy clothes make up just a tiny bit of the traditional fairy tale. Join us as we explore other facets of fairy tales and rags-to-riches stories as we immerse our senses in the Glitterati (http://www.denverartmuseum.org/exhibitions/glitterati): Portraits & Jewels from Colonial Latin America show. February 24: The Lyric Moment - The lyric poem is one of oldest forms of art, originally meant to be sung accompanied music made with a lyre. In this day and age the lyric poem is all about being in the moment, along with a flash of wisdom and/or whimsy. In this session, we'll embark on the craft of writing lyric poems—and essays—taking place in William Matthews: Trespassing (http://www.denverartmuseum.org/exhibitions/william-matthews-trespassing). No reservations required. Class is included in DAM's $10 general admission. Adult programs are supported by William Randolph Hearst Endowment for Education Programs, Nancy Benson Education Endowment Fund, CenturyLink Endowment, James Kelley and Amie Knox Education Endowment Fund, Macy’s Foundation, and the citizens who support the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) (http://www.scfd.org).
