What we're about
We are a community of singers and chanters, spiritual sojourners of all makes and models, doing what we love to do which is gather, sing, and chant the Names of the Divine. Inspired by the kirtans of Krishna Das, this gathering seeks to experience the natural joy, peace, and bliss that spontaneously arises when we together sing and chant the divine Name in its various forms such as Ram, Krishna, Ganesha, Durga, Shiva. Kirtan is the spiritual practice of singing sanskrit mantras to the accompaniment of drums and other traditional instruments. Format varies from call & response to unison singing, interspersed with moments of quiet meditation. Kirtan is open to all. No particular faith or religion is expected, necessary, or required. Almost every faith includes music and singing in its practice. By gathering and singing these mantras, and turning our attention inward towards our own Heart, we discover for ourselves the natural peace and happiness that resides inside all of us. Tom Fuhrmann has been leading these kirtans in his home, yoga studios, churches, and other venues around Denver for over 15 years. You're invited.
Little Rishikesh is a spiritual community supported by the voluntary contributions of the participants. Donations greatly appreciated. All are welcome. Some special events may require a fee.
