Hadoop 101

Survey results from our kickoff suggested we start with a Hadoop 101 meetup. John Arick, DBA Big Data, Berkley Technology Services, will present our first meetup of 2018 Big Data and Hadoop series.

There will be a presentation to introduce the Hadoop ecosystem focusing on HDFS, Hive and Sqoop. There will be a demo of adding files to HDFS, data visualization in Hive and data import from relational data sources using the Sqoop utility. John will share some lessons learned and show sample cluster configurations.
