Beyond Male, Pale, and Stale (Creating an Inclusive Vision for Tech)

There is a pandemic of male, pale and stale in tech and that lack of diverse experiences and perspectives is holding back humanity – now is the time to accelerate change. In this panel, we will discuss the importance, and share examples, of the opportunity cost associated with a lack of diversity in tech. Too often diversity is presented as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or a weak HR construct without hard evidence on the actual monetary and business value associated with diversity. We will share examples of the value gained when embracing, understanding, and investing in diversity. Diversity is not a nice to have – if you want to enable true innovation at a global scale you MUST understand, embrace, and invest in diversity. ## PANEL # Ann O’Dea, Founder of Silicon Republic and Future Human and global champion of diversity in STEM, https://www.siliconrepublic.com/author/aodea #Danielle McPhatter, Creative Technologist at Experiments in Art and Technology, Nokia Bell Labs, https://www.stevens.edu/news/new-sounds #Karen Wong, Deputy Director of the New Museum, https://www.newinc.org/ ## MODERATOR #Domhnaill Hernon, Head of Experiments in Arts and Technology, Nokia Bell Labs, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE13T5hFcV8 --- ## Remote Behavior Considering this is an *ONLINE MEETUP*, please be mindful of the following: #Privacy We will not share your information with the group, other groups, or companies for marketing.
