#OccupyInnovation: demystifying Design Thinking into a business process

Details

Our theme #OccupyInnovation is inspired by a blog post by Next CEO Moodi Mahmoudi which states that innovation should be open and available for anyone in an organisation, not just the 1% of experts schooled in DT and lean methodologies.

In this session, we will take a critical look at innovation. What makes it so magical and mysterious and how can we smash those preconceptions to bring innovation to other 99%.

SPEAKERS

—Moodi Mahmoudi, Founder and CEO of Next
Next (formerly Collaborne) (https://www.nextapp.co/) is a mobile, social and cloud innovation and transformation software trusted by high performing organizations. Rooted in design thinking and lean methods, Next lets organizations engage, empower, and cross-functionally align their workforce in transforming their existing business and innovating new offerings. This will also incorporate a brief activity to make design thinking more tangible for everyone, and give you skills to incorporate design thinking long after the event.

—Adam Warren, Innovation Program Manager at TNW X. His talk will cover initiating innovation from outside an organisation, innovation from within and finally, what these terms and innovation methodologies mean for social work groups, going back to some of his experiences with agencies who struggle to survive on a day to day basis.

TNW X is The Next Web's new B2B label helping corporate brands and governments to innovate faster and more efficiently. Conferences, a startup database, co-working spaces and thenextweb.com, all combined help bridge the gap among corporate brands, governments and startups.
