Talk: Data Informed Product Design: using data to diagnose design problems

When you're designing a product, you end up spending tens, hundreds, or even thousands of hours thinking and working on it. During that time, you will end up building features which add depth, variety, or personalization opportunities for users... but how do you know whether that cool new feature you've built resonates with, or repels your users?

Farah Assir & Elena Gianni, NYT

Farah is a UX designer living in Brooklyn. She recently worked on a small team at The New York Times creating new digital products, namely NYT Now and The Times' Cooking site. She is now starting a new role at Meet Up as a lead mobile experience designer.

Elena Gianni is an Italian born UX Designer. For the New York Times, she has worked on a variety of projects: from editorial strategy, to research, prototyping and product design.

Talk: Designing new things at a legacy media organization

We'd like to present our experience designing new things at a legacy media organization and bringing together a multidisciplinary team that hadn't worked together before. More specifically, the role of the design in connecting a team with different backgrounds and facilitating the exchange of skills and knowledge.
