Some of our friends are planning to blow up a car in Milwaukee.

Why? I'll let them explain below, and at the Spreenkler Meetup next Friday at MAM After Dark. For those of you who made it in, you'll hear from FlipEleven and NEWaukee directly about why, how and where this will happen.

Until then, visit their Kickstarter page and donate. We need to show the world what we can do.

From FlipEleven:

Lately, Milwaukee's creative community has been working really hard to prove our capabilities, tools and talent rival those found in markets like New York and Los Angeles. But we've only just begun to get the word out. Maybe we're not thinking big enough, or talking loud enough. Maybe we just need something a little more explosive to get the world's attention.

The wait is over. On October 26th, a local team lead by Flipeleven Creative will shoot four short films on a Hollywood-level RED Epic camera -- culminating with a car explosion produced live on a downtown street. This powerful story features a message we can all embrace, while simultaneously creating explosive effects for an overall production on par with anything made on the coasts.

Now, Milwaukee needs your help to take its story to the world. Filmmakers from multiple agencies are donating their time and equipment, but we still need to pay for pyrotechnic specialists, city permits and police presence (to ensure the safety of our spectators!). This is your chance to shout Milwaukee's name louder than ever before. And this time, get the world's attention.
