Blockchain technology grants us a toolset and a canvas to renovate our world. Much of the attention of late has focused on its category better capacity to move and raise capital[0]. We propose a new experiment focused on community bootstrapping, communal self-defense and full communal actualization rather than capital raising.

Today we live in communities of happenstance and duress. This situation ruins human potential. Working bottom up means returning to the axioms of what a community can be and writing anew. Can the life of a community be implemented in code? Working bottom-up with our new tools can we reimagine what a community can be and use this technology to subsume compromise and realize our ideals?

The thesis: just as through blockchain, an attack resistant system, the free flow of value cannot be stopped, through this new technology a free a group of people committed to mutual actualization cannot be stopped.

We’ll examine the need for communal self-defense[1][2] through the lens of information security[3]. We’ll do a super brief intro to tokens[4], ICOs, DAOs[5] for those unfamiliar, go over the core concept, component layers, and prospective implementation timeline following the structure of the first version of the white paper before cracking open our laptops diving into a co-creation session to build our pilot: the very first crowd-offering done in Detroit, The North End Terumah.

From last time:

Education Layer: How can the educational architecture of a community be structured in order to preserve its orientation toward its values?
Device Layer: What should the physical interface with community be?
Network Layer: How should nodes of the community connect with each other?
Communication Layer: Communication is the basis of community, what should the structure of community communication infrastructure be?
Growth Layer: How can the incentive structure of the community be built to facilitate growing to full participation?
Action Layer: How do we coordinate communal action in this new paradigm of community?
Balance Layer: Can the incentive structure of a community be such that deviation from the values of the community results in diminishment of community value?

Through these components how do we establish proof-of-participation in community? H/T Onyx Ashanti
