According to mythology, Brendan Eich created JavaScript in ten days. And on the eleventh day, he looked at his creation and he saw that it was good.
Well, not quite. The first working version of JavaScript actually took three months, and Eich worked with several people, and was not always selective about which well-meaning advice to adopt and which to ignore.
In this talk, we will look at the early history of JavaScript, long before async await, long before classes, etc. We will look at what was glommed onto JavaScript from Java, which was not always good (e.g., `java.util.Date`), and the obscure programming languages that Eich actually based JavaScript on.
We hope to announce the venue soon, just have to confirm the date.
