Workshop: Getting Started With Screencasting

Join us to learn how you can get started sharing your knowledge online!

Most of us have had to teach ourselves, at least in part, to nurture the skills we need to do our jobs well. Especially in the tech industry, a lot of that learning takes place online, in the form of videos.

Join us to learn how you can get started sharing your knowledge online. We will be walking though the basic steps to help you design your own screen cast. We’ll cover some options for basic equipment, software, distribution, and lots of tips to help you develop and deliver the best content you can. You have something unique and interesting to offer whether that be in the form of a conference talk, blog posts, etc. Share it through a screencast!

You do NOT need to bring anything special! A computer might be helpful to try things or take notes. :)

We ran the Detroit event and had a great time working with participants across a number of different underrepresented groups in tech. Most came in without a clear idea of what they'd even speak about given the chance, but every single one came away with an awesome talk proposal!
