The tech world has been lit on fire by event sourcing and microservices and by this time you’ve probably heard of all of the benefits and pitfalls. Perhaps you've also heard about Kafka, and have been impressed by the scale at which others are using Kafka in their environment and the solving of complex operational problems.
You’re fired up and ready to start implementing your first Kafka-based solution using .NET Core… but struggling to find example architectures to use as a point of reference!
In this talk, we'll introduce Kafka and take the audience through a tour of some common implementation patterns that we’ve seen when implementing .NET Core microservices and Kafka through the lens of an interactive cupcake factory. We will introduce common implementation patterns such as Event Sourcing, ETL Modernization, Kafka Connect, change data capture (CDC), and Log Compaction. The Cupcake Factory is our open-source reference application. You’ll leave with access to a reference architecture, .NET code samples, and an appetite for a dozen of everyone’s favorite cake-based sweet treat.
