Linux on the Cloud: Hands On AWS Workshop Series (4 Parts)
DevOps Detroit is hosting a 4 part hands on workshop series designed to help you build real Linux skills using the cloud.
In this series, we will use Amazon Web Services to spin up cloud instances and work directly inside a Linux environment. Instead of only learning theory, you will gain practical experience working on a real server, just like professionals do in modern cloud and DevOps roles.
This workshop is designed for both beginners and advanced professionals.
Beginners will learn how Linux works, how to connect to cloud servers, navigate the terminal, manage files, users, and system processes.
Advanced participants will strengthen their command line skills and gain a deeper understanding of how Linux operates in real cloud environments used in production.
Across the 4 sessions you will learn:
• How to launch and manage a cloud server
• How to connect to a Linux machine using SSH
• Core Linux command line skills every IT professional should know
• File systems, permissions, and process management
• How Linux powers modern cloud infrastructure
By the end of the series, you will have hands on Linux experience running in the cloud, giving you skills that apply directly to cloud engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, and system administration roles.
If you are trying to break into tech or level up your infrastructure skills, this workshop will give you practical experience that most courses skip.
Snacks will be provided. Come ready to learn, connect, and build real skills. 🚀
