For the June meetup of the DevOps Galway group we are looking forward to bringing you talks on service meshes and Istio (Stuart McLaren), the AWS certification path (Noel Healy) and consumer driven contract testing (Shane Galvin).

Stuart McLaren

After nearly twenty years at Compaq/HP/HPE, Stuart has helped to build and run everything from supercomputers to public clouds.
In this talk Stuart will present on “Istio: A bluffer's guide to service meshes”.

Noel Healy

Noel is an AWS Platform Engineer working with Cisco Systems Galway. He has achieved three AWS certifications in System Operations, Development and Architecture and his experience lies in infrastructure, virtualization, automation and providing CI/CD platforms. Noel is also an organiser for the DevOps Galway Meet-up and DevOps Days Galway.

Amazon Web Service is the Gold standard of the Cloud and for people wanting to show their skills there are a number of different certification paths available. This brief talk, “AWS Certification - 101”, will provide the basic facts on where to start, learning tools and which path may be best for you.

Shane Galvin

Shane has been developing contact center applications for Avaya for almost 10 years. More recently he is part of a team migrating these monolithic style applications to Docker & Kubernetes based (micro) services. He is also an organiser of this DevOps Meetup and is currently undertaking a part-time Masters in DevOps.
This snap-talk will focus on consumer driven contract testing, and how it can help alleviate integration hell.
