April Online DevOps Galway Meetup

Details
DevOps Galway are going Virtual in 2021 and we have the following event lined up for April.
About Jared Porcenaluk
Jared Porcenaluk is a Senior Software Developer at Archer First Response Systems. There, he is helping build a system that delivers life-saving medical equipment by drone at the push of a button. In previous roles, he's built CI/CD pipelines, enabled touch-free onboarding for over 30,000 smart locks in new homes, designed and built a distributed architecture that handles terabytes of data daily, and also once made a watch app that turned on a coffee machine. And then there was that one time he made a mortgage calculator for vampires. He is moving to Galway this summer and is looking to join a software development team accomplishing meaningful things.
Talk
The Internet of Things brings immense challenges to the world of DevOps. With resource-constrained, tiny, intermittently connected devices that can be hundreds of miles away from any human, reliably and securely updating them can be tough. In this talk, Jared will discuss the ins and outs of his experience deploying code to a companion computer on a drone from hundreds of miles away, as well as general considerations and solutions in deploying updates to IoT devices.
2nd Speaker to follow.
Link to the online event will be sent out 48 hours before the event.
Unfortunately, there will be no Pizza available for our online meetups :(
