The 6th edition of DevOps Kathmandu Meetup is here to open up a discussion on microservice architecture & related security issues.
We have two exciting guest speakers in this meetup and open whiteboard discussion session. Our first speaker, Xavier Canal Masjuan, is a software engineer at Red Hat. Having delivered an insightful presentation at KubeCon EU 2019, Xavier is here with us to talk about leveraging security to service mesh with Istio and Kiali.
Some questions that he will explore with us include:
What is service mesh?
What is the architecture of Istio?
How we implement TLS termination for each service in huge meshes?
How do we rotate those certificates without headaches?
How Istio implements access control?
What is mutual TLS?
How can one enable all these security features without changing a single line of code?
Second speaker, Chiran Basnyat, has been working as a DevOps Engineer for the last 8 years and is currently at the US-based fashion eCommerce giant - Express. He will be sharing his experiences, along with opportunities and challenges of working in a large scale enterprise.
We will also have a Whiteboard Session for sharing ideas about system and DevOps architecture. This will be an open space where you can share your ideas and challenges you’ve been experiencing, and get feedback from the community.
We look forward to seeing you at the event.
