Devops: GNU Parallel

Details
What's up guys!
Ole Tange, the developer of GNU Parallel (https://www.gnu.org/software/parallel/) is in town and we will have him as our speaker for this next meetup.
Here's the description:
GNU Parallel is a tool for processing medium sized data (< 10 TB). It makes it extremely easy to parallelize work. If you have 10000 files that you want processed, and you have a tool that can process a single file, then you can use GNU Parallel to process them all - using all your computer's cores in parallel.
GNU Parallel is field tested and used in production in many places that need medium sized data processed without having to go through the hassle of setting up a Hadoop cluster.
The talk will be centered on walking through the tutorial, so bring your laptop and see if you can follow along.
Tweet from Esparta Palma @esparta Mar 30: "So, you don't know you can use GNU parallel for most of your tasks/process/scripts and still call yourself a DevOps Engineer? Nice."
Ole Tange is the author of GNU Parallel. He is a free software activist and is especially concerned about software patents. He has used GNU/Linux since 1992, erased his Microsoft Windows partition in 1996.
PS: It's a short notice so we don't expect many people would show up. Let's a have some fun though.
varsti näeme!
