Our main venue, Campus North, is closing at the end of September 2018, so we will say a fond farewell....and continue our "back to school" September tradition and have talks on PowerShell (and maybe Git).
Craig Porteous & Paul Broadwith will give a talk on "The PowerShell Standards Agency – Write better code for Everybody" and (hopefully) and will also cover "Git Fundamentals".
As usual there will be food, drink and great conversation!
Craig Porteous is a Microsoft certified Data Engineer working with Incremental Group. He has more than 10 years working with the Microsoft Data Platform and related technologies, supporting global BI Environments, automating processes with PowerShell and implementing BI Solutions. Craig is actively involved in the SQL community as a co-leader of the Glasgow SQL User group & creator of the SQLGLA Event in Scotland.
Paul Broadwith is a Senior Technical Engineer at Chocolatey Software with a keen interest in and knowledge of automation and scripting gained through both commercial working and personal learning.
On the "PowerShell Standards Agency" - There’s the quick way or there’s the right way. In this session we will look at good practices and standards to follow when writing PowerShell to make it easier for you and others to trust and reuse your code
By the end of this session you’ll have a guide to being a better PowerShell citizen, following best practices and sharing your code with others.
Become a member of the PowerShell Standards Agency* (Not a real thing) and write better code for Everybody .
The additional talk on Git fundamentals is great for novices and experts alike.
