Join Devhub Vancouver for their weekly series of Lunch&&Learns-- casual one-hour seminars with varying topics targeted at developers. Why not use your lunch break to learn something new?

This week's Lunch&&Learn topic is presented by Colin Walker, a full stack developer at Sendwithus.

Kubernetes is a platform from Google that has made big waves in the DevOps world over the last few years. You may have heard of it mentioned alongside technologies such as Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.

This talk is targeted at developers who may have only briefly heard of Kubernetes and don't know what impact it makes on their life as a developer. We'll talk through some of the history, how it got started and deploy an application from scratch.

About Colin:

Colin Walker is a full stack developer working at Sendwithus to lead the development of a high throughput email sending api. He has a particular passion for DevOps and building applications and infrastructure on top of Kubernetes. He's led the development of multiple applications and worked closely with product teams and stakeholders to find the right balance in technical design. Colin is a self taught developer with a degree in Philosophy from SFU.

About Devhub:

Devhub is Canada’s first full-out community space for developers of all levels. A place where members can work, learn, and teach, whether they’ve been coding for two decades or ten weeks. It’s a space that connects developers with community, mentorship, and a unique co-working environment, all programmed for their needs and growth.

PLEASE BYOL (Bring your own lunch):
