What we're about

Are you interested in learning about Buddhism, about its philosophies or practices? Do you read and share with like minded? like to visit museums or talk about art or Buddhist philosophies and cultures?

Are you a bodhisattvas at heart, meaning you're motivated by compassion and seeks enlightenment not only for yourself, but also for all beings everywhere?

We’re a bunch of Bodhisattvas who like likes to read about Buddhism and the many valuable insights provided by the ancient Buddhist scriptures and contemporary teachings. That said, people of any faith or practice—or no spiritual practice—are all welcome!

Our group's main focus will be book clubs but sometimes we may (1) check out and chatting about art, Buddhist or not, (2) visiting various museums or centers for their cultural activities, (3) touring Buddhist temples, (4) social together over coffee, food or hikes, and more…

If you can describe yourself as one or more of the following, this meetup is right for you:

• You like the to read about Buddhism, concepts, philosophies, etc.

• You like experiencing and learning about cultures.

• You're a Buddhist/spiritual person and like to meet other like minded friends.

• You have an interest in Buddhism and like to meet Buddhists and learn more about Buddhism.

• You're not necessarily spiritual, but would like to meet people who are.

• You just want to meet some cool people with open hearts and minds.

Book Club: Trust in the Heart / "Faith in Mind" Zen Poem - Lectures on Practice

"Trust in the Heart" is the sixth century beloved classic Zen poem by the Third Patriarch of Zen, Seng Ts'an. You may know this poem from one of its many other names from original Xin Xin Ming (信心銘) to translated Faith in Mind, Trust in the Mind, Verses on the Faith Mind...

"The Hsin Hsin Ming is a masterpiece of economy, expressing the profoundest truth of the enlightened mind in only a few short pages," Faith In Mind.

This book is based on a series of retreats based on this poem. Per Master Sen Yeng, "... use the poem as a take-off point to inspire and deal with issues that arise during the course of practice. True faith in mind is the belief grounded in realization that we have a fundamental, unmoving, and unchanging mind. This mind is precisely the Buddha mind."
