This group is for lesbians in Concord, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Walnut Creek and the surrounding area who want to get out, meet new people, foster a community on this side of the tunnel (which isn't to say activities won't take us to the greater Bay Area and beyond), but who might be feeling as though they are lacking a queer community closer to home.
Park at Zio Fraedo's Restaurant, our gathering spot. We will begin our hike on the Contra Costa Trail in Pleasant Hill and then veer off to the Briones-Mt. Diablo Trail in Walnut Creek. This will be a comfortably paced paved walk with slight inclines near turnaround. Option for lunch afterwards at taqueria adjacent to starting point. Please update your RSVP if you no longer plan to attend.
The George Miller trail is a paved 4 mile hike with scenic views along a bluff following the Carquinez Strait. Restroom available at turnaround area. It can get breezy, dress accordingly and bring your enthusiasm! We'll be leaving promptly at 9:40.
Note: Carquinez Drive is narrow and winding, please use caution as you work your way up to the GM trail. Street parking is limited.
