ARE WE MOVING TOWARDS WHOLENESS OR OBLIVION?

Details

Topic: ARE WE MOVING TOWARDS WHOLENESS OR OBLIVION?

Presenter- Mary

Looking out into, or, from space, shows the seamlessness of the universe(s) - boundaries are in the mind.

Thought breaks up that which is whole, and, creates the appearance of separateness.

Can that which is whole be broken up in actuality? Is anything or anyone separate from one’s surroundings, the atmosphere, gravity, the magnetic field?

When the body dies- as bodies have been doing for eons, does awareness or consciousness die? Are we only physical or material?

Is oblivion or "lights out" impossible? Is consciousness inescapable?

Meeting Format:

Each meeting has a single topic which is introduced by the person who came up with it. He/she introduces the topic by posting prior to the meeting (above) and presenting it for up to 15 min at the start of the meeting. Following this introduction, we take turns sharing points of view related to the topic. Everyone who wants to is encouraged to speak. The Group is self-monitoring. Chairs are arranged in a circle so that we can easily communicate with one and other.

The meeting starts at 2 pm and ends no later than 4:15 pm. At about 3:45 we will begin closing round where we take turns making final comments, stating what we heard or what we learned during the meeting.

Note**- Diversity of perspective and opposing points of view are frequently expressed. The right of each person to express her/his point of view, freedom of thought and expression are valued greatly.
