What we're about

Do you like to host dinner parties, potlucks, or game/movie nights? Do you want to meet some new people? Do you have a talent that you like to share with others such as brewing, baking, cooking, sausage making, or sushi making? Then join Dinner Parties for Friends & Foodies!

The purpose of this group is to provide an alternative to the hundreds of MeetUp groups for going OUT. This group is to be used as a tool for ANYONE that would like to stay IN with friends.

No matter your age, gender, background, orientation, diet, location (Portland and all surrounding areas), or size of home, you can host an event through here. Whether it's just hanging out, dinner, brunch, board games, watching sports, movies, or anything else you like doing at home, try sharing it with some new friends. Everyone that joins is made an Event Organizer, something no other MeetUp group does. This way, this group belongs to everyone and everyone is allowed to post their own events on here. It is strongly encouraged that you try hosting an event! If even half of our members posts just one event this year, we'll all be able to enjoy each other's company.

And don't be discouraged if you have a small place. Even sharing with just two people can be VERY enlightening for all. This group is expanding rapidly so those of you in more distant areas, like Salem, Battle Ground, or Forest Grove, try posting an event and you'll be surprised how quickly it'll fill.

It can be daunting to invite total strangers to your home. Here's a tip: Ask a friend or two if they can come before posting your event. Then, when you post it on here, set the total number of people you are comfortable accommodating, and edit your going status to reflect the number of friends (guests) you will be having come. This way, your event won't be overcrowded and you'll have someone there that you're already comfortable around and whom can help you out in the unlikely event of someone getting unruly.

MeetUp is dedicated to being safe and fun for everyone and so is this group. If you have ANY issues with a member, please report it to me, Joseph Morgan, ASAP. That member WILL be banned from this group AND reported to MeetUp.

Cheers! And here's to having good times in our homes!

Last (Saturday) Supper: Singles Dinner

Plas Morgan

The last Saturday of each month this year, I will be hosting some sort of party. For February, since it is the month of love, I would like to have a singles only MeetUp. Despite being Valentine's month, THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT'S ONLY FOR DATING. I do hope to make some new male and female friends this year too and want this to be a no pressure fun way for fellow singles of all orientation (yes, LGBT welcome!) to meet other fellow singles. For this Meetup, I will be making one of my favorites, chicken marsala. (This will be GF. Chicken will be seperate if anyone wants to go vegetarian. Will have dairy.) I'll have drinks as well but would greatly appreciate anyone whom brings something to share (reds go lovely with marsala and bonus points to anyone who finds a marsala to bring!!). After dinner, we'll hang out and play some group games too! Venus (my furry child [i.e. dog]) and I are looking forward to meeting all of you!

Tailgate Tuesday

Needs a location

Hey everyone! With March Madness right around the corner, bring a finger food fit for a tailgate! You can plan to bring heartier finger foods like sliders, slow cooker meatballs, and quesadillas for the main dishes, healthier finger foods like caprese skewers, sliced veggies + dip, and salad-on-a-stick for the sides, and desserts such as brownies, cookies, and candied popcorn to curb your sweet tooth! A few friends and I meet on Tuesday nights for dinner and thought we'd like to open it up to meet some of y'all. A bit about us: we are all 20 and 30 somethings somewhere between just joining the professional world and climbing the professional ladder for 10+ years. We would love to have you whether you "fit that demographic" or not. Please post what finger food you'd like to bring so we can keep a balance of proteins, sides, and sweets.

Last (Saturday) Supper: Lucky Leprechauns

Plas Morgan

The last Saturday of each month this year, I will be hosting some sort of party. For March, since my birthday does happen to be on St. Patty's day, I will be doing an Irish themed dinner party. I'll be making corned beef and cabbage and will have green beer on tap. (Yes, I have an awesome kegerator!) You are all encouraged to bring something to share (especially drinks) but not a requirement like January's MeetUp. However, YOU MUST WEAR GREEN!!!! ;-) Venus (my furry child [i.e. dog]) and I are looking forward to meeting all of you!

Dinner and Game Night in Milwaukie!

Milwaukie Floors & More, LLC

Please bring a salad (any kind, not only greens), finger food or snack food to share. I will provide plates, napkins and utensils. Please bring a serving utensil if your dish requires it. Also bring what you want to drink. We have water, coffee and hot tea here. I will also provide some wine and beer but please BYOB or non-alcoholic beverages. BRING YOUR FAVORITE GAME! We will have stations set up to play lots of games at the same time so bring it on!
