Hello and welcome to our group! We serve exclusively VEGAN, ORGANIC & GLUTEN-FREE meals four times per month in our medieval (14th century) dining room. We welcome everyone on the eating spectrum, from long-term vegans to those who are curious, and everyone in between, ages 12-120! This is a great way to try your first vegan meal with your family, celebrate with friends, or just indulge in a clean, healthy meal with like-minded individuals after a long day! The meetings are held the first Tuesday and last Friday of every month from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm - with an additional two weekend meals in the middle of the month. The meal is $20 per person.
While the menu is not announced beforehand, the meal includes several main dishes as well several desserts, so there is always something to please your palate! All dishes are Vegan, Organic, and Gluten Free, and made without refined sugars; we regularly include decadent raw dishes as well. As we are friends with a local beekeeper, we occasionally use honey. We are a dry household, and no alcohol under any circumstances will be allowed. Please note additional dietary requests cannot be accommodated and we can not be held responsible for allergic reactions. Attend at your own risk.
We can accommodate 14 at the table, and signups close 24 hours before the event, so RSVP early. YOU MUST RSVP FOR EACH EVENT. ACCEPTANCE INTO THE GROUP DOES NOT HOLD YOUR PLACE AT THE TABLE, NOR CAN WE ACCOMMODATE DAY-OF REQUESTS TO JOIN THE MEAL. If you must CANCEL, please give AT LEAST 24 hours notice. Otherwise, the food that is bought and prepared for you is needlessly wasted. "No shows" will be 'dismembered' from the group. Inversely, if you are wait-listed, check the day of the event to find out if there are any cancellations.
Dr. Van Beveren, a nutritional biochemist, has been holding these meet-ups since 1999, and Dr. Ben, an art historian, began developing her cooking skills while living in Italy, honing them in our teaching kitchen. We love to share our knowledge to help everyone achieve their optimum level of health and wellness! Conversations cover numerous topics ranging from nutrition and the sciences to humanities and the arts; due to current events and climate disruption, conversations are often geared towards both religious and secular eschatology, i.e. how the end will come.
NB: WE REQUIRE A PROFILE WITH YOUR FIRST NAME AND A PHOTO WITH YOUR FACE VISIBLE SO THAT WE KNOW WHO WE ARE INVITING INTO OUR HOME. PLEASE ONLY JOIN THE GROUP IF YOU INTEND TO ATTEND OUR EVENTS.
