Welcome to the group! Houston is HUGE and only getting bigger. So for newcomers it is a daunting task to do anything. For locals...well they tend to stay in their local community and not venture out much. This group will explore familiar haunts along with periodically checking out some new areas of interest. We're always looking for new Assistant Organizers with new/fresh ideas. If you are willing to host events, please email me with your ideas. I would love to hear from you!

ULTIMATE BAR GAME NIGHT 🎱🏓🎯 at Social Beer Garden

Hey Everyone,So a while back, I took an informal poll about fun things for large groups to do on a Saturday night. The only catch was ,,,,, they had to be "big tent" events. Something that was easy for a new person to attend ,,,,and that didn't require any "special knowledge or skills." I mean ,,,,a trivia night is great and all ,,,,but if you don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of Mr. Belvedere from the early '90s, that event can go sideways pretty quick. It all depends ,,right ♂️♂️ ?? (Wait ,,,,not familiar with this iconic sit-com from the late 80's early 90's starring Christopher Hewett ,,,,,,yeah). Anyway, I expected the informal poll to come back with something like "Dancing." After all, club dancing is a lot of fun. And my dancing skills confirm that such an event meets the aforementioned criteria of not requiring any "special knowledge or skills" . I was a bit surprised however, when the results came back. PEOPLE WANTED GAMES !!!! Pool, darts, jenga. Nothing too complex. Basically, something easy and fun to do while you socialized. So, with the results in, we doubled down on games, including the creation of our own Black Light Game Night ! And while IMHO Black Light Game Night is totally awesome, it arguably doesn't have the breadth of it's sister event ,,,ULTIMATE BAR GAME NIGHT !!
Enter ,,,,,,,,Social Beer Garden !! While they have a variety of unique events every month in their beer garden, it may be easy to overlook the fact that upstairs they have what may be the largest selection of different bar games in Houston - including pool, darts, ping pong, air hockey, foosball, jenga and connect four.
These events are always a blast ! And anyone can easily join in. So whether you're a "pool shark" or just want to hang out with a group and meet some new people, come on out. All are welcome ! Feel free to bring a friend !
