Let’s get together and practice! Begin a meditation practice by doing it in silence and in the presence of others. We will follow a simple plan: 20 minutes of silent sitting meditation, …10 minute break… followed by another 20 minutes of silent sitting. Afterward, we will share tea. You are welcome to practice any form of meditation you prefer. You can sit on a chair, the floor, your own cushion (please bring). The group is not affiliated with any one style of practice or teacher. We welcome people from all backgrounds and spiritual practices. To begin on your own, check out these two apps: Headspace and 10% Happier. If you have questions, send a note to [masked]

Welcome to Houston’s Mental Health Open Mic Nights!
December’s Topic will be: Release & Renewal/Burial & Rebirth
The 1st half of the night will be a Release & Burial, the latter half will be a Renewal and Rebirth!
Release & Burial: Think of something (thought process, experience, draining person etc.) that you’re putting to REST and cutting off of you in 2018... bring it to the Mic and make your DECLARATION!
Renewal & Rebirth: Think of something that gives you renewal, that helps you stay at peace, or helps you tap into your power or inspires your self acceptance or courage or ingenuity or creativity... this thing you will not let go, or you will fight to keep, you will continually carry it forward with you in life and allow yourself to constantly grow and witness your rebirth. Bring that CELEBRATION to the mic!
Share a few words, or share a poem, a song, speech, or dance- however you want to express it!
*Cheers* To Our Beautiful & Continual Transformation
