Kendra Vant | EGM | Xero
Kendra is currently EGM Data at Xero. She has held leadership positions at Seek as a Principal, Machine Learning Products and as a General Manager, Big Data Analytics at Telstra previously.
With a firm conviction not to die wondering ‘what if?’, Kendra has worn a number hats in her career to date and plans to wear quite a few more. Kendra’s greatest satisfaction comes from working with smart people to solve difficult problems. The common thread of her professional journey is a never ending fascination with solving problems and building things - be those things laser systems, quantum computers, data assets, software applications, deep learning algorithms or enthusiastic high-performing teams.

Jade Haar | Head of Ethics | NAB
Jade has almost seventeen years legal experience internationally and in Australia in such areas as data protection, freedom of information, litigation and legislative reform. She was previously NAB’s Chief Privacy Officer from late 2013 – to mid 2019, situated in NAB’s Group Governance & Legal department. Previously Jade was based overseas in London, where she worked as a regulatory lawyer for the BBC, and in New Zealand, where she had various roles in government relating to law reform and indigenous issues. Her NAB experience includes being across regular improvements to policies and credit consents, keeping a watchful eye over marketing campaigns and has lived through implementing the biggest updates to Australian Privacy legislation for the last 20 years (the introduction of the APPs and comprehensive credit reporting, as well as the Mandatory Data Breach scheme), which she helped roll out across the Enterprise. Jade now combines her experiences across those sectors to be NAB’s Head of Data Ethics, based in their Enterprise Data team.

Catherine Lopes | Head of Enterprise Data and Analytics | AGL
Catherine is a strategic team leader, business focused data scientist, data driven consultant, and passionate educator helping organizations to uplift business performance by applying advanced analytics and improving enterprise data management. She worked in data domain for more than 20 years and has a unique suite of skills including deep technical background, focused business delivery mindset, strong story telling communication, and excellent leadership skills. Catherine worked internationally across a wide range of sectors with specialties in Machine Learning, analytics transformation, data management, and end-to-end Delivery.

Dr Robbie Fordyce
Robbie is a Lecturer and a member of the Automated Society Working Group at Monash University. Robbie's work is focused on the use of digital media technologies by the general public, examining what barriers, concerns, and risks people encounter with new technologies and platforms, and how these developments can empower, enhance, or distort aspects of our everyday lives. He has recently investigated the Australian context for esports, his current research has examined dark ads on Facebook, and he has recently made policy submissions on Data 61's AI Ethics proposals and on the use of mobile media in schools.
