Are you exceeding your expectations in the field of public speaking? As the only Toastmasters Club in the city to win back-to-back President's Distinguished Awards with a perfect score, Assiniboine Toastmasters has definitely exceeded their expectations. We meet every Tuesday night, in a University classroom with access to A/V resources to enhance members' presentations. The club is led by multiple Triple Crown winner Gordon Bueckert, with 22 years of Toastmasters experience.
New members are always welcome.
There is no charge for guests.

Learn to Love Public Speaking with the Island Shore Toastmasters Club

Join members of the Island Shore Toastmasters Club and learn to love public speaking!
We are a small and very supportive group who meet every Tuesday to practice prepared speeches and impromptu speaking.

Laverne Wojchiechowski, DTM

Laverne joined Whiteshell Toastmasters 23 years ago at her workplace and has never looked back. She has been working at CNL (formerly Atomic Energy of Canada Limited) in Pinawa for the last 34 years starting out as a computer programmer in the Nuclear Fuel Waster Program and currently works as a quality assurance specialist and section head. She is also a Past District Director for District 64 Toastmasters (Manitoba, NW Ontario and NW Minnesota). In her spare time she likes to travel, garden and grows giant pumpkins near Lac du Bonnet Manitoba along the Winnipeg River. She has been on four continents and will be speaking on her most recent travel to Antarctica just before COVID shut everything down.

She is thrilled to be here today to give her presentation “To the End of the World”.

Mike Lyons, DTM

Mike has been a Toastmaster for over 18 years, achieving Distinguished Toastmaster status. He has served in many roles and competed in speech contests winning second place in the District humor contest twice! Mike belongs to Carillon Club and has helped start a professional club in Steinbach. He lives just outside of Steinbach with his wife and 3 kids and is looking forward to becoming a Grandpa in April!
He runs his own Financial Services business which he started 12 years ago and accredits Toastmasters for helping him with this journey.
