We are a group of enthusiastic readers from different sexual orientations (Bi, Gay, Lesbian, Trans, questioning, straight), different ages, and diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We embrace diversity in all its forms. We share eclectic tastes in literature. We read everything from the most popular bestsellers to the odd and obscure; across all genres of fiction and non-fiction. We read to explore the variety of the human experience. Our book club is a place where we learn from each other and freely express our views. We select thought-provoking, challenging, but also fun books. Join us every month for a lively discussion, followed by dinner/drinks at Wilde Bar.
A Best Book of the Year for The NYTimes, NPR, Washington Post, Time, "My year of Rest and Relaxation" has been called a "strange, exhilarating triumph . . . sad, funny, astonishing and unforgettable" (EW). It is the shocking and tender story of a young woman's efforts to duck the ills of the world with the help of one of the worst psychiatrists in the world. For the New Yorker, "Ottessa Moshfegh is the most interesting contemporary American writer on the subject of being alive when being alive feels terrible."
AS USUAL, AFTER THE DISCUSSION WE'LL GO TO WILDE BAR FOR DINNER/DRINKS/GOSSIP. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THEN!
