What we're about

This group is for anyone who uses (or is interested in learning more about) WordPress and Divi. Built by Elegant Themes, Divi is a drag and drop web page builder for everyday users. This group is a great place to meet fellow members of the Divi Community. Join us to learn, make friends, and network with local designers, developers, DIYers, business owners, and more.

Our Aspirations & Goals
1. We aspire to build a local, personal community for Divi Users.
2. We aspire to empower our members through in-person training, workshops, discussions, and more.
3. The end goal of this meetup is to increase our members' confidence and competence in web design when using WordPress and Divi.

Do you share these aspirations and goals?
To accomplish these things, we need a dependable team of volunteers. After all, the community is not sustained by a single organizer; it's sustained by its members! If any of the volunteer opportunities below sound like something you're interested in, please message the main organizer of this group.

Volunteer Opportunities:
- Bringing refreshments to one or more future meetings
- Greeting new members as they show up
- Promoting events locally and online
- Taking photos at events (helps with promotion for later events)
- Helping to tear down or set up as needed at events
- Speaking/Presenting

Co-Organizing (Not every Co-Organizer needs to do ALL of the below):
- Speaker/Presenter booking
- Meetup Group Management
- Creating Event Posts
- Announcing/Promoting Events on Meetup
- Reserving venues when needed
- Organizing other volunteers on a per meeting basis
- Facilitating meetings in person

And whatever else comes up!

About Julius Lopez
Julius, along with his wife Irene, are co-owners of Trivessa (https://www.trivessa.com/), a web design studio in Thousand Oaks, CA. He created his first website back when Netscape Navigator was the top browser. His IT background in desktop security and management includes UCLA, Intuit, and the BBC. He now specializes in building fast, secure websites with WordPress and Divi, as well as hosting Divi Los Angeles Meetup. Hailing from the southern tip of Los Angeles, Julius met his first love in 1976 when his dad took the family to the Long Beach Gran Prix. It was love at first rev. He is now a fervent fan of various forms of motorsport—particularly F1 and Australian Supercars. An early adopter of technology, Julius built one of his first websites from his apartment. It’s purpose? To hold a virtual garage sale for offloading unnecessary items before moving out of his apartment. He later used his skills to update his daughter’s elementary school website. His latest side project is an online auction website to help raise funds for a program at his daughter’s high school.
