What are we about?

Learn, Collaborate & Dockerize! Meet other engineers in your community that are using and learning about Docker. Docker is an open platform that helps you build, ship and run applications anytime and anywhere.

Developers use Docker to modify code and to streamline application development, while operations gain support to quickly and flexibly respond to their changing needs. Docker ensures agility, portability and control for all your distributed apps.

Docker is also the main sponsor of the Moby Project, an open framework to assemble specialized container systems without reinventing the wheel. More information available at http://mobyproject.org/

Igor is Head of Software Development at Currency Solutions where he's focused on helping the business to choose right technologies. He's been in the industry for 14 years working in telecom, web hosting, digital consultancies and fintech. Scott Perham - 4,000 containers, 4 engineers Polystream's platform is comprised of a broad set of technologies spanning multiple IaaS providers including many hundreds of service instances and huge amounts of telemetry, routed and processed in real-time. Using containers and supporting technologies, the platform team have been able to successfully design, build and operate a live, globally-distributed, highly-available, secure service platform with only 4 engineers. Polystream has become a great proof point for what is achievable using modern, cloud-first approaches to platform engineering, requiring only a few engineers... and a few thousand containers. Scott is a technical architect specialising in cloud computing and distributed architecture. After a decade designing and building large scale, distributed systems for various different industries including defense, telecoms and games, Scott joined Polystream in 2016. In his previous role at Microsoft, where he led Lionhead’s Online Service team, he combined his profession with his passion for video games, and is now using his talent to design and run Polystream’s cloud computing/streaming platform as Platform Architect. Phil Estes (@estesp) - An insiders’ look at the Docker engine evolution from[masked] End users of the Docker platform may not be aware of the growth and evolution of the open source components that come together as the full Docker engine and platform of today. In this insider look at the evolution of the open source components on which the Docker engine is built, developers will get a view for how the project is built and delivered today. This will include discussion on components that have been spun out into other foundations and projects, like the Open Container Initiative (OCI) and Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). Phil Estes is a distinguished engineer for IBM Cloud, and is a maintainer in the Docker/Moby engine project, the CNCF Containerd project and a member of the OCI's Technical Oversight Board (TOB). He actively maintains several open source projects and speaks regularly at conferences and meetups worldwide on container technology.
