Staying up-to-date as a dev can feel like a full time job. If only we had some way to overclock our brains, as well as our computers (and no, coffee doesn't count). If only we could learn to learn better? Is that possible? This month's speaker, Jeroen Heijmans thinks so and he's here to share his experiences with active learning and how it can make skill acquisition more effective AND more sustainable.

As we prepare to head into our 2020 hiatus (more on that in a separate mail), we're revisiting one of our oldest hosts, the excellent folks from Leukeleu and Jouw Omgeving. They'll be providing us with food, drinks and space as you get ready to supercharge your brain at one shocking meetup!

Main Talk: Learning at Lightning Speed
Good news, everyone! Your skills will quickly become obsolete, and you'll be out of a job soon! Unless you keep learning...

Learning new technologies is a crucial part of software development. Passive learning is often straightforward: read a book, watch a video course, et cetera. Active learning however, can be tough. Especially when you don't have a teacher immediately available. This presentation will provide a thorough overview of active learning methods based on practical experience, specifically methods suitable for learning about technology and software development. It aims to inspire you to start actively learning new things, in new and improved ways!
