Announcing a new Meetup for Drawing London on Location!

When: Saturday, August 28,[masked]:45 AM

Where: Smollenskys
Reuters Plaza, Canary Wharf

I suspect this will be the groups most challenging location yet. I say this because the buildings are the main focus point here and its quite tricky finding a spot with enough distance away to draw them, however there are some good views of the buildings within the Wharf that can be found with a little exploration.
Apart from the buildings there are the many open spaces between the buildings as well as the interior spaces, stations and parks. Canary Wharf is also situated along the Thames so there are also some good river views to be found here as well.
Canary Wharf is an interesting location to visit on the Weekend being vacated by the people that work there, leaving some areas looking entirely empty. Like the city it can take on an almost quiet and tranquil feel to it - sometimes spooky.
We will stop at a couple of locations, the first is likely to be on the Marshwall South Quay side of West India Millwall Docks and the next will be the area between Fishermans walk and the Museum Of London Docklands. These areas will just be used as guide posts, so you won't be tied to the group if you want to explore other areas of the Wharf.
At the end we will vacate to the pub - which is likely to be the Cat and Canary - and share each others work and experience of the day.

The Meeting point for this trip will be outside Smollenskys on Nash Place. This is just in front of 1 Canada Square aka the Canary Wharf Tower and is very near the entrance to Canary Wharf station on the Jubilee line.

P.s I've added smollenskys as the meetup location as to help people locate the meeting point at the start. Anyway, a map can be found here:
