What we're about
Come enjoy plein air drawing, sketching and painting rescued American Mustangs on the farm. The rustic farm is at the base of Mt. Diablo in Walnut Creek. The wild horses, known as the Mustang5, have been gentled and spend the day outdoors with each other in paddocks. This is a rare opportunity for you to freely sketch, paint or draw American mustangs who were all born in the wild. We do not provide instruction.
The rustic horse farm is located one block from entrance to Mt. Diablo State Park. Even thought this feels like the country, we are about a 4 mile bike ride from Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill BART if you are coming from San Francisco. Parking at the farm is free. Please drive slowly (5 MPH) into the farm to respect the wildlife living here. Kindly bring your chair, art supplies, hat, sun lotion, snacks, water. If you are coming by bike on BART you may borrow a chair here : )
Wildlife is abundant at the old farm where we strive to be stewards of the land. The grounds are herbicide free. You might see deer with their fawns, wild turkeys, quail, jack rabbits, dragonflies and more.
