Summer BBQ

It's time for our annual Big Meetup Summer BBQ!

This traditional event, which we managed to host even during the pandemic, brings together several large Meetup groups: Drinks & Ideas, German-English Stammtisch, and Open Expat Meetup FFM. We'll be meeting at the easily accessible Ostpark, just an 8-minute walk from the Eissporthalle station.
Join us for a barbecue, picnic, and a chance to chat, exchange ideas, and practice languages. Those interested can enjoy fun activities like frisbee on the lawn. Grills, charcoal, cups, and napkins will be provided by the participating groups. We kindly ask that you bring your own cutlery, paper plates, sauces, food, and drinks. We’ll have some spares, but these are just backups. If you have a spare grill, please bring it along. This is a self-catered event, so everything we consume, we need to bring ourselves. Feel free to join us even if it's just for a drink.
SPECIAL FEATURE: This year, we have partnered with Horbach Financial Consultants for Expats. Register for their financial planning webinar on July 18th or book an individual session with them and receive a free barbecue meal (meat/veg/vegan) and a drink! This third party will be responblible to provide more information on how to obtain your free meal.
Drinks can be purchased at a kiosk in the park, with the nearest supermarket located in Bornheim, a bit of a walk from the venue. We will have limited capacity to cool food and drinks, so additional cooling bags would be appreciated. An extra grill would also be helpful, so please inform the organizers if you can bring one.
The event is free of charge. Small voluntary contributions to cover the organizers' expenses will be collected. Please note that the event date or start time may change depending on the weather.
Registration for the event is through this page. As this is a joint event with multiple groups at the same venue, please sign up with only ONE group.
