What we're about

A modern approach to Buddhism, reliving Buddha's teaching in the modern context. Drukpa Singapore is part of the international Buddhist groups of the Drukpa (Dragon) lineage which flourished in Bhutan (Druk as the national belief), Northern India, Nepal and have centres throughout Asia, Europe, N & S America. Guided by His Holiness, the Gyalwang Drukpa (UN Millenium Development Award Recipient) and his heartson, Gyalwa Dokhampa, His Eminence Khamtrul Rinpoche (M.Phil in Buddhist Philosophy from Royal Bhutan Tango University, author of "Moon in the Mirror" and "Restful Mind"(forthcoming)), the drukpa lineage is focussed on environmentalism, gender equality, community service, pad yatra(walking practice) and takes on a modern approach to integrate Buddha dharma in daily life and make service to humanity as part of practice. Drukpa Singapore follows the same thinking. We have regular sharing sessions, community service groups, walking trips, and hold public talks, interactive events, publish dharma books, organizes pilgrimage trips/ retreats to benefit more people seeking the balance of spirituality and modern life.
