With January being the time for new diets & fitness regimes this meet-up will focus on how Cloud & IoT is driving innovation in Healthcare & Fitness.

The current agenda will include the below speakers.

Ken Finnegan - Chief Technologist, IDA.

Having first qualified in Limerick in 2000 with a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology and Telecommunications, Ken has since completed a Masters in Strategic Management and Planning with the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. Now serving as Chief Technologist for the IDA – Technology Division, Mr. Finnegan advises and provides insights into trends in the technology sector both on a national and a global level. His role also includes supporting the IDA in helping to secure jobs and foreign direct investment for the country by demonstrating all that Ireland has to offer in terms of national resources and capabilities across the technology sector. Ken is a contributor for several business and technology journals including ‘Silicon Republic’ and ‘Irish Tech News’ to name a couple. He is also the point of contact for Technology organisations present in Ireland for Research Centres, Third Level Institutions and Academia and is presently the go to man for the internet of thing s (IoT) in Ireland.

Brian Doherty from Cronometer

Brian is co-founder and CTO of Cronometer.com, he is tasked with growing the product from it’s small beginnings to a multinational Company, with users in over 170 countries. He is currently using Cloud technology to manage exponential growth.

Cronometer.com has established itself as a leading nutrition tracking application for customers who require accurate data – providing a complete solution to the smart dieter. Cronometer.com can be access for free online. It also connects to many industry leading fitness devices like; Fitbi t- Withings scales - Garmin - Jawbone - Apple Healthkit.

Cronometer.com has recently launched the Cronometer.com Pro product, allowing professional dietitians, nutritionists, doctors and other health professionals to work with a number of clients:- Monitoring client nutritional intake- Tracking client biometrics (weight, body fat, glucose levels, etc)- Tracking client exercise and activity levels

Ronan Guilfoyle - Amazon Web Services

Ronan is a solutions architect with AWS, who are the leading Cloud Service platform, and pioneer in the field with the launch of AWS in 2006. Ronan has 20 years’ experience in IT, having previously worked in Telecoms and IT consulting with the Insurance industry.

The Solutions Architect role puts Ronan in touch with current and future Cloud users throughout Ireland and the UK, through consulting, training and support. He has broad expertise in cloud computing, security and the foundational technology services to support modern application architecture. Ronan works closely with customers from nascent startups to the Irish pillar banks and everything in between. A regular speaker on Cloud Computing at public events and a regular at Dublin Meetups.

Smart Club Coach drives mobile engagement, personal health and real-time management for health clubs, gyms and members. It increases retention, revenues and real-time results.

Kevin OSullivan: Areas of expertise include team building, wearables, market and customer knowledge, vision, and the ability to solve problems, strategy, decision-making and delivery. Kevin has been self-employed for 23 years and has built and sold several businesses with successful exits. He has held government contracts for 10 years and managed a direct workforce of 60 employees; Kevin is an internationally accredited dressage rider and highly qualified personal training coach and nutritionist.

Esdras Portillo: Areas of expertise include big data, product architecture, scalable solutions, network, data structures, algorithms, no-SQL databases, cloud computing, full-stack architecture. Working full-time as the company’s lead full-stack developer, Esdras brings years of business acumen, problem solving skills and technical knowledge to our team. He is a graduate of Maynooth University, and he is now finishing a Research Masters at Insight Program for Big Data Analytics at Dublin City University.
