Irish banks charge their consumers some of the highest interest rates in Europe but is far from the most profitable. Why is that?

The talk will try to answer the question and give a brief overview of credit risk modelling, why is it done, how is it done (hint, using lots of data!) and what actual impact does the assessed credit risk have on the interest rate the banks charge on loan products like mortgages.
