Lunch & Learn - Problem Solving Edition Pt. 2

Details

We're going to be mixing up the Lunch and Learn format for July. Instead of our usual talks, we're going to focus on collectively sharpening our problem solving skills.

Amr Druid of Bizimply has chosen a selection of programming problems for us to try out.

To get the most out of the session, I'd recommend attempting some of the problems before the lunch and learn. If you don't have the time to attempt them, that's cool too - feel free to turn up on the day, grab a sandwich and take a stab at them.

Here's the list of problems:

http://codeforces.com/problemset/problem/456/A
http://codeforces.com/problemset/problem/96/A
http://codeforces.com/problemset/problem/339/B
http://codeforces.com/problemset/problem/706/B
http://codeforces.com/problemset/problem/580/C

Attempt the problems and then submit your answer on Code Forces to see which ones you've solved correctly.

You can work on these problems alone or in pairs. Codeforces supports a number of programming languages - Java, C++, Ruby, Python etc are all supported. If you find a problem easy, I'd recommend taking the opportunity to solve it using an unfamiliar programming language or technique (e.g. functional programming or TDD).

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
