Monthly Meetup in the pub

The Black Sheep

Hey guys, this is the scheduled monthly Meetup. We've booked the Black Sheep, the table will vary depending where they put us on the day. Please keep an eye out for us. We will try to state where the table is when we arrive on the day. We *should* also have the Stickers n' Swag Exchange! It's now a Cadbury's Roses tub filled with stickers that I've picked up at FOSS events. Give some swag, take some swag - it's up to you! As with any Meetup, please try to stick to your RSVP or change it to No if you can't come.

Lightning Talks

Harcourt Hotel

There will be a suggested donation of €10 for this event, this is to cover costs such as the hiring of the venue. This is entirely voluntary, but is encouraged as it enables us to put on similar events in the future. Donation links are on our webpage: https://dublinlinux.org/support The idea of this event is to have short "Lightning" talks of 10 mins + 5 min Q+A after, you can optionally talk into the last 5 mins. The organisers will be timing you and *will* stop you if you have reached the end of your time. Please respect the organisers as it allows for a smoother transition to the next speaker. Please email your talk title to [masked], we will be emailing you leading up to the event to confirm that you are still doing the talk. Please be committed with your final decision as we may not have a talk to replace your slot. As an extra bonus we we have Ishan and Cedric from Microsoft to talk about Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL 2) and Powershell on Linux, they may even have some swag with them :) This is early days, the details may change leading up to the event.

Coffee Meetup

The Clockwork Door

This is the Coffee meetup. Some attendees may not like the atmosphere of a pub so this is intended as an alternative. Feel free to attend either or both depending on your preference. The venue and times are subject to change as we settle on a format. As there is a cost to this we will always welcome contributions towards this cost, just let one of the organisers know. A suggested donation would be €10. There is no obligation to donate but donations are very much appreciated! Donation links are on our webpage: https://dublinlinux.org/support This venue has tables and furniture as well as access to a kitchen with unlimited tea and coffee and biscuits. Sometimes people bring their own snacks to share! New people who know nothing about Linux are welcome and encouraged to attend, please don't be shy. If you are new please feel free to approach one of the organisers and we'd be only happy to help explain things as best as we can, we honestly don't mind and don't judge. We were new once ourselves :) Our infamous "stickers and swag" tin *should* also be in attendance. This is stickers and any "swag" that we have obtained from conferences or has been donated to us (USB keys, pens etc). Feel free to dig through and take anything that takes your fancy. Please note that in general, these are adult friendly meetups, therefore, we are not responsible for those under 18 in attendance. We may have events targeted at children in the future. As with any Meetup, please try to stick to your RSVP or change it to No if you can't come.
