We're back from our summer break with Septembers meetup! Looking forward to seeing everyone! We're delighted to welcome Matteo Collina @matteocollina and Dara Hayes @darahayess, who will be speaking on the night.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Pizza will be arriving at 7 pm before the talks :)
First Speaker:
Matteo Collina
Talk Title: Introduction to Node Clinic
Talk abstract:
Node Clinic is a suite of Node.js diagnostic tools to identify & solve performance issues. One of the problems Node.js developers have to deal with is figuring out why their app is "slow". There aren’t many tools available to help dig into the fine detail of Node.js performance issues so we decided to create some. In a nutshell, Clinic simplifies the process of investigating and fixing performance issues in your Node.js applications. Check out https://clinicjs.org/
Second Speaker:
Dara Hayes is a Software Engineer at Red Hat based in Waterford. He works mainly with Node.js, Golang and Kubernetes, and is currently building an Open Source Data Sync service with Node.js and GraphQL.
Talk Abstract:
This talk should give you a basic understanding of GraphQL, the problems it tries to solve, and how it compares to traditional RESTful APIs. The talk will demonstrate GraphQL in action by building a real-time messaging app similar to Slack.
