Bio
Neil Ward is a Director of the Department of Justice and Equality. As Head of Operations and Service Delivery, he leads newly established project management, business change, service design and customer insight teams. While working in Ireland’s immigration service, he developed an interest in the application of service design approaches to the provision of public services, and established the redesign of services based on the lived experiences of customers as one of the key themes underpinning service improvements in that area. He was awarded an Eisenhower Fellowship in early 2019, travelling to the US for six weeks to examine how to build a culture of innovation within a public sector context.
