Inaugural meeting

Welcome to the first reunion of DublinCSS, the meetup dedicated to the love for the basic building blocks of the web - HTML & CSS and the ecosystem developed around them. Here is what is on the menu for the evening.

Speaker #1 - Miriam Eric Suzanne (live, via Skype)

Our first guest of honour for the evening is Miriam Eric Suzanne - author, performer, musician, designer, and web developer. She has been an active member of the Sass community since developing the Susy layout toolkit in 2009. Recently she also saw her name on a book cover - "Jump Start Sass", written together with Hugo Giraudel and published via SitePoint.com and O'Reilly. Miriam will talk about establishing patterns to make your codebase easy to document and maintain.

Speaker #2 - Chris Coyier (live, via Skype)

Second guest of the evening is Chris Coyier. Many of us have visited at least once his website, CSS Tricks, in search of a solution for tricky layout problems. He will talk to us about the project that has been his major focus recently - CodePen. A virtual playground for front-end developers everywhere, CodePen has the same significance for our industry like Dribbble has for designers. It is a place to showcase your coding skills, to pick up new fresh ideas, to create test cases or even to learn how to code. Stay tuned to find out why every self-respecting front-end developer should have a CodePen account.

A big "Thank you!" to all of you who managed to attend the meeting. I appreciate your support and I hope the event was interesting (and entertaining) enough to convince you to attend future meetings as well. I am a bit busy in the following weeks so it might take a bit of time for me to edit and publish the recording of the meeting. Please be patient and stay assured that I will notify you all as soon as the video is online.
