it's been a little while since we've seen you all but we're announcing our first meetup of 2019 🎉 We're being hosted by the lovely folks down at Workday and have got three awesome talks for you this month. They are:
Performance as a First-Class Citizen - Damien McGrath (Workday)
Damien will share how they've placed performance front and centre when building applications at Workday. He will dive into some of the challenges they face and the tools that they use when attempting to chase that 60fps dream.
It's about time to embrace Streams - Luciano Mammino https://twitter.com/loige
This talk has the ambition to shed some light on Node.js streams. It will provide very practical examples about when and how you should be using streams and it will progress into more in-depth stream topics. Don't worry, if you want to use Node.js streams in the browser, Luciano'll have you covered as well! At the end of this talk, you will be able to understand streams better and not fear them anymore!
Not only will Workday be hosting us in their beautiful office, they will also be sponsoring food and refreshments. Here's a bit about them.
Workday was founded by two visionaries Dave Duffield and Aneel Bhusri in 2005 with a goal to deliver Human Capital Management, Payroll, Financial Management and Worker Spend Management solutions for midsize and Fortune 500 companies.
Workday is not your average company and we pride ourselves on everything that makes us unique, such as our culture, core values, company meetings, development hackathons, commitment to sustainability, recognition programs but most importantly our people. Workday employees are self-disciplined, hard working, curious, trustworthy, humble, and truthful. We are the leader in enterprise class, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions for the management of global businesses. We are growing fast, with software development sites in the United States (Pleasanton, San Francisco, Boulder), Canada (Vancouver Victoria and Toronto), Europe (Dublin, Munich)
Note: Due to Workday policy you will not be permitted entry unless you've registered for the meetup. They will be providing badges generated from the RSVP list. We'll be closing the RSVP list at 3pm on Monday 4th March.
