Codebases which have existed for extended periods of time inevitably became “legacy” without some form of constant maintenance. Better patterns will inevitably emerge, new framework APIs or libraries are always released, and new best practices are discovered. Rather than let your application slowly become more inconsistent and harder to work with, there are actions you can take to make things better. Pat will talk about strategies and tooling he’s employed to incrementally improve codebases over time.
