How to Become an InfoSec Autodidact - Kelly Shortridge - Ann Arbor

Details
Our next Duo Tech Talk will be mid-November and Kelly Shortridge will be escaping the maybe-freezing weather of NYC to face the weather of maybe-freezing Ann Arbor. Or, maybe it will be 60 degrees, who knows.
Either way, we're excited to host Kelly! She will be talking about how one can get into and thrive in the infosec field.
Title:
How to Become an InfoSec Autodidact
Abstract:
The information security industry can often feel inaccessible to outsiders, particularly those without a computer science background. However, there are ways to quickly dive into the field regardless of your background, many of which just require a time investment. I’ll talk about the numerous infosec careers available, how to network with community members, and how to build a knowledge base that is sustainable for the ever-evolving field.
Bio:
Kelly is currently co-founder and COO of IperLane, a mobile monitoring and access control startup. Prior to IperLane, she was an investment banking analyst at Teneo Capital responsible for coverage of the data security, intelligence and analytics sectors, advising clients on M&A and capital raising assignments. She graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in Economics and was awarded the Leo M. Prince Prize for Academic Achievement.
