Our goal is to promote the Spanish language and culture in DuPage County while building internationalism, friendship and community This is a group for anyone who is interested in speaking or learning the Spanish language. We invite all levels whether total beginners to native speakers of Spanish to join us and celebrate Latin American culture and bringing together the Spanish language community in comfortable, creative settings that foster communication, sharing and learning, in Spanish. We also announce Spanish learning opportunities at the groundbreaking, local Ole Spanish School, part of the proceeds of its creative, conversational curriculum, go to empowerment programs in the local Latino community of Dupage!

Introduction to Latin American Literature- Community Small Group

Learn the basics of Latin American Literature at Ole! Ole Spanish School in Wheaton's fun, community small group class format is back and covering more themes for our students and the entire community! Join us on ZOOM or in person- space limited for a fresh and groundbreaking look at Latin American Literature with linguist and language enthusiast Prof. Cristobal Cavazos (MA) for Latin American Literature from the Conquest to the XX Century. In four months we will be looking at Latin American literature from the Conquest to the present day, from the Conquest, to the Sor Juana, Simon Bolivar, Jose Marti, Ruben Dario, Octavio Paz, Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortazar, Isabel Allende y mas! Ole Spanish School is breaking the foreign language status quo with community+enthusiasm+language and fun. Join us for this unique community class, presented in Mexican Spanish, taught locally with language lovers and your peers! $60 ($15 per class) each month w/ text "Introduccion a la Literatura Hispano-Americana de la Conquista al siglo XX' included with enrollment

Join the DuPage Spanish Language Meetup and Ole Spanish School for outdoor yoga, en español with Maestra Teresa DuPhare Invigorate your mind and soul with our expert yoga teacher who is taking yoga to the next level while, bringing it to the Latino community while celebrating, learning and practicing your Spanish Join us every Saturday at 9:30am for Yoga Classes in Spanish with Yoga Teacher Teresa Duphare, at Casa DuPage Latino Community Center, Wheaton 213 S. Wheaton Ave. Wheaton IL 60187 The classes run for 1 hour and a half and feature traditional yoga, relaxation and breathing exercises, for the Latino and Spanish Learning community, doing basic movements, with basic commands and body vocabulary- all in Spanish! Classes are part of the Immigrant Solidarity Dupage (Latino non profit 501c3) , Community Health Iniciative. The goal of the classes is to promote community health and wellbeing in the Latino Community and beyond and promote community, internationalism and harmony with Latinos and the community in general. We are back, now on ZOOM! --- Come practice your Spanish & and hang out with us!—-Saturday Spanish Speakout. Join us for an hour or two of Spanish speaking space—interacting and having fun with host,Cristobal Cavazos from Ole Spanish School, poyglot and native Spanish speaker, and language enthusiast from Wheaton. Now on ZOOM! The goal of the meeting is create an intentional community -- a local Spanish speaking space in a comfortable environment, for the local Spanish learning community to hang out--- speaking, hearing and bringing out our communication skills in Spanish to the next level.
