What were your favorite board games and card games as a child?

I Doubt It, Old Maid, Candyland, Rummy, Chutes & Ladders

What are your favorite board games and card games now?

Favorite card game is Spades (with Cribbage and Rummy/Gin Rummy as close seconds). I also love Trivial Pursuit and other trivia games and would also like to re-learn Mah Jongg, which I used to play regularly 20 years ago and is kind of like Rummy. But I'll play almost anything as long as it's not too serious (e.g. not chess, bridge, etc.) I like fun games where I can also socialize and have a glass of wine or two.

My name is Aline; I'm 60 years old, and am about to retire. I live in DC. Right now I'm stuck at home in a state of enforced sluggitude due to a badly broken wrist, so it may be a while before I can actually play any games, but soon, I hope.

What AJH is saying about this Meetup Group

Lots of fun and different kinds of people, different kinds of games. I definitely plan to go back.
