Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate.
By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.
Our membership is more than 332,000 members. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 15,400 clubs in 135 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.
Attend a meeting and experience Toastmasters for yourself. Our members are incredibly supportive of each other and you will never feel left out or without a helping hand in your journey.
During the pandemic we have been meeting using Zoom. However, we are moving back to in person meetings again but still keeping the Zoom option available for members who would prefer to attend from home. Full social distancing protocols will be in place at all times. If you would like to attend then please let us know how you would be attending.
Toastmasters Umhlanga club gathers once a month where its members get a chance to improve their public speaking and leadership skills.
Come and visit us to hear the personal testimonials about how we at Toastmaster Umhlanga helped our members to successfully advance their career paths or to become a better person in their private lives. If you like what you hear only one thing is left, join the club and you are pretty much there, you are already walking on the golden road that leads to success.
The meetings are always full of fun (this is guaranteed!) and informative.
We meet at the Three Cities Gateway Hotel for 3 and a bit hours on the last Wednesday each month. The meeting is divided into to parts by a delicious dinner at a mere cost of R80 for non-members. It is worth every penny! Vegetarian option is also available.
