Containers are an indispensable way to deploy and run applications. Azure offers several services to run Docker containers.
Each service with its own characteristics and do's and don'ts. The options you have in Azure are: Azure WebApp for containers, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Instances (ACI), Service Fabric (Mesh) and Azure Batch.
During this meetup Marco Mansi will tell you everything about the different offerings and why and when you should use them.
Note: This time the Meetup will be in Hilversum, the headquarters of Xpirit. Don't forget to bring you laptop with Docker installed on it, as always we will have a nice hands-on part!
RSVP will be opened 2 weeks before the date of the meetup.
This meetup we have Loek Duys from Xpirit available where he will share his knowledge about High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
Bring your laptop, because all meetups of the Dutch Azure Meetup always include a hands-on part!
Deploying a container to Azure is easy, running a mission critical system is not. To run your ever-changing software reliably, you’ll need to think ahead about a range of things. For example, controlled deployment and testing of not only software, but infrastructure as well. How you can make both infrastructure and software resilient to failure, monitor its health and recover from disaster? And how do you protect your application's secrets?
In this talk 'from-the-trenches', Loek will show you what you need to know, using Azure Kubernetes Service, Application Insights, Service Bus and more. He'll explain how his team chose to do it, what went wrong and how they fixed it.
Loek is a Cloud Architect at Xpirit and a Microsoft Azure MVP. He helps companies to make their transition to the Cloud as efficient as possible; from strategy to implementation. As an active member of open source projects, forums and as international speaker, he loves to exchange knowledge with other community members.
