So if you’re unsure, just ccome and we’ll make it work!

Dutch Language Cooking Club [Natives welcome!]

Needs a location

Hi there!

The Dutch Language Cafe is a community in The Hague of both natives and non-natives. We believe in learning Dutch while doing fun and interesting activities together.

We do all sorts of activities together, like BBQ evenings, museum visits, cooking, board games, ice-skating, knitting, book club, movie nights and more!

Here you can:
* Make new friends
* Practice Dutch in a fun way
* Do interesting activies & learn new things!

Natives are very much welcome too! For natives it is a nice way to meet new people from all over the world, do interesting activities, learn from other people, and help others!

You can read all about our community here:
https://dutchlanguagecafe.com/community/

- THIS ACTIVITY -
Try our cooking night! Every two weeks on Thursday, we cook together!

The idea is that one of us is 'Chef Of The Week'. He/she chooses a recipe and brings the ingredients. Then, we cook together while practicing Dutch!
17:45 – door open
18:00 – cooking starts
19:15/19:30 – dinner starts
21:00 – dinner finishes, feel free to stay for board games/ping pong/a chat.

If you can’t come at 18:00, it's no problem to come a bit later or only join for dinner!

- RECIPE OF THIS WEEK -
Today we will cook Thai curry by Chef John!
We will make a vegetarian and non-vegetarian option. If you have any other dietary preferences, let us know!

-DUTCH-
During the event, we try to speak Dutch as much as possible and avoid English. However, we also create a very friendly and supportive environment, where it's ok to make mistakes :). If you have a basic Dutch level you should be fine! If you are a complete beginner, we offer extra support here: https://dutchlanguagecafe.com/beginners-course/. If you're in doubt about your level of Dutch, just come and see how it goes!

- NEDERLANDSTALIGEN -
Nederlanders zijn van harte welkom! Het is een leuke manier om mensen te ontmoeten, je hebt zelf veel lol en je helpt anderen!

- COSTS -
We ask 6 euros per person to cover costs of ingredients for the cooking.

In addition, we ask 6 euro fee to enter our community event. With this, we cover costs of using the place, materials, and so on. Natives pay a bit less (4 euro try-out fee) as an appreciation of their help with the language. Dutch Language Cafe members enter for free :).

So total costs are: Non-native 12 euro, native 10 euro.

- REGISTRATION -
To reserve a spot, please register on our website so we know you are coming :). You pay in advance, because we want to make sure how many people are coming, as we have to buy ingredients.
